Arctic Yellow River Station

The Arctic Yellow River Station (78°55′N, 11°56′E), located in Ny-Alesund, Svalbard, Norway, was founded on 28th July, 2004. The station is a two-story building with about 560 m2 floor area, accommodating 18 research persons to live and work. The station is a multi-discipline, integrative research base, with the mainly research fields of Upper Atmospheric Physics, Glaciology, Marine Biology, Environmental Science etc. As the Arctic Yellow River Station and the Antarctic Zhongshan Station is on the same magnetic field line, both stations can act as very important conjugate observation places for aurora phenomenon.
