At 10:47 am(Beijing time) on January 19, the "Xuelong", which is carrying out the 35th Chinese Antarctic Expedition, collided with the iceberg in the dense ice area of the Amundsen Sea in the Antarctic. The ship mast and part of the bulwark were damaged. At present, there are no injuries on the ship, and the ballast water tanks, oil tanks, main engines and other ship power equipment and communication and navigation equipment are operating normally.


After receiving the report, PRIC launched an emergency disposal procedure and established an emergency disposal working group. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the guidance of the Polar Investigation Office, it actively carried out emergency response.
